40 años se cumplen de la "Misa por la Paz", de Santiago Vera-Rivera

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Mass for Peace by Chilean composer Santiago Vera-Rivera, our record label is pleased to present the CD (digipak format) "Dorian Lamotte: Mass for Peace for Solo Violin".

This work, originally composed for a folk ensemble and chamber orchestra in 1986, has been reinterpreted by French violinist Dorian Lamotte in a version for solo violin.

Mass for Peace (1986)

The work was created as a Chilean mass in homage to Pope John Paul II, who visited Chile in 1987. It contains 12 songs, with texts and music created by Vera-Rivera, except for the texts of "Santo" and "Cordero de Dios," which are part of the Liturgy. Its world premiere took place at the Maipú Votive Temple in 1987, in Santiago, Chile.
